Feeling cramps and pregnant? 6 Pregnancy warning signs to take seriously

If you experience cramps when pregnant or any other major discomfort you should try to contact your OBGYN immediately and seek medical advice. Here is an important list of the things that should not be ignored during your pregnancy.

1. Preterm labor

This is labor that usually starts before week 37 of your pregnancy. Signs to watch out for are: more than 4 contractions in an hour, severe menstrual-like cramps, uncomfortable pelvic pressure and intensified lower back pain. In addition, and change in vaginal discharge should be checked out especially if it is more mucous-like or slightly blood-tinged.

2. Vaginal bleeding

Bright red vaginal bleeding and the appearance of clots are not normal. You should call your doctor immediately or head to the hospital. In general severe cramps while pregnant, especially when accompanied by bleeding are a serious cause for concern.

3. Decreased fetal movement

Absence of movement of significant lessening of movement may be a sign of a fetal distress and should be a concern. You may decide to keep a fetal activity chart and record/track movements but any changes from the normal patterns should be reported to your OBGYN.

4. Fever

Regardless of the reason for that (e.g. flu, pregnancy complications, etc.) it is best to seek medical attention on time so that you do not put your baby in danger.

5. Headache

A little headache now and then is normal in pregnancy. However, severe headaches that lead to seeing spots or flashes should be immediately checked. In more serious cases, this can even lead to loss of vision, loss of balance, speech difficulties, etc.

6. Urinary discomfort

Painful urination should always a sign for concern. If you urinate more frequently with smaller amounts, have blood-tinged urine or pus in the urine, you should immediately seek medical attention.
